KICKBOXING CERTIFICATION

This workshop brings standards and guidelines to today's hottest workout. Apply the principles of biomechanics, exercise physiology and injury prevention to learn the safe and effective way to lead dynamic KickBoxing classes. Learn how to properly throw a punch, techniques for kicks, use of equipment, combination-building and more. 5 CEUs for AFAA certified professionals.

Prerequisites: AFAA Primary Group Exercise Certification or experience as a group exercise instructor. Current CPR certifcation required before certificate is issued.
Includes: Workshop, hand wraps, study guide (shipping additional), written and practical exams, one-year AFAA membership or extender, including a subscription to American Fitness magazine.
Study Materials: KickBoxing: A Manual for Instructors (required), and Fitness: Theory & Practice textbook.

WHAT IS IT?
This workshop reviews the proper biomechanics, basic moves, potential injuries, ideal format and choreography for kickboxing classes.

WHO IS IT FOR?
This workshop is for fitness professionals and martial artists who want to teach today's hottest workout with safe techniques for group exercise. Recommended precursors: Group exercise teaching experience, Primary Group Exercise Certification, familiarity with basic kickboxing techniques, and an understanding of AFAA's Basic Exercise Standards and Guidelines.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
The workshop fee is $239* (less a 10% discount for current AFAA members).
This fee includes:

• Study Guide (shipping additional)
• Hand Wraps
• Certificate and wallet card upon successful completion of exams and proof of CPR certification.
• One-year AFAA membership ($68 value) or membership extension to current members and a subscription to American Fitness magazine (does not include postage to addresses outside of the U.S.)
• For AFAA certified professionals who wish to register for CEU credit only, not for certification, the workshop fee is $75. Receive 5 CEUs.

*Fee does not include the required KickBoxing: A Manual for Instructors 2010 ($39).
